The Association

Better Together

The Old City Association was formed to promote and advance the success of Knoxville’s Old City as an historic, unique, and vibrant neighborhood. We’re the voice and vision behind one of Knoxville’s most distinctive districts. Our Board of Directors works to preserve the character that makes the Old City special while championing the growth that keeps it thriving — from supporting local businesses and organizing community events to advocating for infrastructure improvements and fostering connections between neighbors.

What we do for the neighborhood:

Advocate

We fight for the Old City’s best interests — ensuring our voice is heard on critical issues like safety, infrastructure, public improvements, and development decisions. When it matters, we’re at the table making sure this neighborhood’s unique character and needs aren’t overlooked.

Communicate

We keep you in the know. From member updates and road closures to construction projects and policy changes, we’re your direct line to what’s happening in the Old City — so you’re never caught off guard and can plan accordingly.

Promote

We shine a spotlight on what makes the Old City special. Through strategic marketing, partnerships, and community outreach, we champion our local businesses and draw people to experience everything this neighborhood has to offer.

Celebrate

We bring people together. From exclusive member gatherings to neighborhood-wide events, we create moments that strengthen bonds, drive foot traffic, and remind everyone why the Old City is worth celebrating.

Want to shape the future of the Old City?

We’re always looking for passionate community members to join us. Whether you bring business expertise, creative vision, neighborhood roots, or simply a love for this district, your voice matters. We operate with full transparency — complete with bylaws, open budgets, and regular updates — so you’ll always know exactly where your time and resources are making an impact. Together, we can ensure the Old City remains a place where community comes first.
